Your next opportunity to help out with Dry Creek general trail maintenance is on Saturday, March 20th starting at 8:45 a.m. We will meet at the trailhead parking lot for registration and a game plan/safety meeting. The normal parking fee is waived for all volunteers for the workday.
You can help before the workday by reporting areas needing work; primarily spots having deadfall or heavy briars, brush or weeds. We need and welcome all volunteers!
Please register with CONF Crew Leader Molly Caldwell at email@example.com or by phone at 706-252-7752. Texting is delightful and don’t call after 8pm Please provide the names of participants, and advise of any equipment/tools you are able to provide.
Volunteers provide their personal tools, but we will have a few swing blades if you need a tool. The most useful tools are: • Brush trimmers, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, brush mowers, and loppers. Hard hats are required per US Forest Service policy. Bicycle or equestrian helmets are acceptable alternatives, and we will have a few hard hats available. We recommend that you bring a hard hat/helmet if you have one, work gloves, your lunch or snacks, plenty of drinking water, any personal medicines needed (epipens if appropriate), insect repellant, and something to carry all of this. Wear hard toed boots/shoes and full length trousers.
We will meet back at the parking area around 12:30 pm to check in and discuss accomplishments and identify future tasks. Beverages will be provided.
Driving directions to the Dry Creek area are available upon request. Please come out and help maintain this terrific trail system!!
